International cooperation

When it comes to higher education, international cooperation is an essential component and top priority in the process of education and scientific research. This kind of cooperation affects the development of innovations in the education and has a big role in the development of other cultures which also enriches our own.

The Center for Scientific Research of The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality- Ohrid has signed bilateral cooperation agreements with the following institutions:

The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality through the Center for Scientific Research is involved in numerous international projects since the implementation of the European credit transfer system and the Balkan network of Higher education, including:

  • Student Mobility (OMC),year 2001/2004, signed between University ‘’Ss. Kliment Ohridski’’-Bitola and l’Institut Universitaire des Maitres de L’Academiede de Toulouse –France;
  • Designing a long-term agricultural strategy for Albania under the framework of the Stability Pact, from the 2000 TEMPUS Programme with Albania and the Faculty of Biotechnical Sciences in Bitola;
  • Regional Cooperation Joint European Project, Curriculum Development, Enhancing regional cooperation in Southeastern Europe: curriculum updating and adoption for tertiary hospitality and tourism sources, from TEMPUS-FARE Programme with Greece and The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality-Ohrid,2000;
  • Project for the protection of Ohrid Lake, in 1991/2001,in component A, Development of institutional and legal framework for the improvement of the environment in the basin of the lake;
  • TEMPUS AD JEP-15007/2000 ,(from April 2001, until June 2004) titled:"Enhancing regional cooperation in South-eastern Europe: Curriculum updating and adoption for tertiary-level hospitality and tourism courses", contractor is T.E.I. Thessaloniki, Greece, and other participating countries are: Finland, Scotland, Macedonia, Albania;
  • TEMPUS C-D JEP-17 121/2002 (fromOktober 2003, until August 2006), titled: "Advanced regional cooperation in South-easatern Europe: development of postgrdaduate curriculum for hospitality and tourism studies", contractor T.E.I. Thessaloniki, Greece, and other participating countries are: Finland, Italy, England, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania;
  • Project ‘’Tourist Promotion of Ohrid’’, implemented by Prism office in Skopje, correlator with the agency for international development of USA and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Ohrid, 2000-2003; Project‘’ On the paths of sustainable development’’, 2000/2003,in correlation between the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality- Ohrid and the Association of Higher Schools, St. Louis, Missouri, USA;
  • Custоmer – oriented brand-value measurement of the destination “Macedonia” in the Source Region of Germany, a project between Germany and Macedonia, 2008-2010.;
  • International project and composition of elaborate international scientific and professional journal with IMPACT factor. 2008-2012;
  • Project ‘’Assessing Macedonian quadruple brand as a tourist destination in Germany’’, Faculty of Tourism and Management in Heide, Germany and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Ohrid, 2008-2009;
  • Project ‘’Master Studies in Tourism, Outdoor Recreation and Culture’’ – MASTOC – European Commission Tempus IV, 2009;
  • Project German-Macedonian Training program and network “Sustainable Tourism” for SME in the Tourism Sector, Academics and other Promotors, DBU, Germany, 2011-2013;
