Customs and freight forwarding – 1 year of studies

The postgraduate studies in the field of Customs and Freight Forwarding were introduced for the first time in the academic year 2004/2005 with the study program Modern Development Trends in Customs Freight Forwarding. The study program was introduced as a result of the need within the customs and business community, from academic staff with knowledge in the field of international trade and modern customs systems, to know the customs regulations in international trade and to be trained in freight forwarding skills. – logistics operations. The second cycle of studies in Customs and Freight Forwarding aims to profile staff who can successfully respond to the requirements of management positions within both the public and the private sector. The knowledge and skills acquired by the students during their studies enable them to more easily obtain licenses for representation in the work before the customs authorities. Students will be able to use their skills, in addition to customs services and freight forwarding and logistics companies, as well as when working in business entities that perform foreign trade operations. The acquired knowledge and skills of this study program can be used by students in the state administration, but also for running their own business, especially in the field of freight forwarding – logistics sector.

 

According to the International Standard Classification of Education – ISCD and the International Frascati Classification of Scientific Research Areas, Fields and Areas, the study program in Customs and Freight Forwarding belongs to the scientific field – Social Sciences 5, Field Organizational Sciences and Management 56, Scientific Area 506 – Customs and freight forwarding management. The study program lasts 1 (one) year or 2 (two) semesters. To successfully complete the study program, students must obtain at least 60 ECTS credits. Upon completion of the studies, the student can continue the education for the third cycle of studies.

The second cycle of studies includes a total of 3 compulsory courses, 2 elective courses are selected from the order of all courses represented at the University unit, and 1 elective course from the list of all elective courses represented in the study programs of the units of state universities. Also, the student has the obligation to prepare and publicly defend a master’s thesis.
