The study program Tourism profiles highly educated and professional staff trained to conduct key business activities in tourism and who will be able to cope with the challenges of modern tourism processes by using modern methods in work activities, learning new scientific results and their implementation as application solutions.
The study program Tourism of the third cycle of university studies was established in 2013, based on the Decision of the Teaching-Scientific Council of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, and based on the Decision for adoption of the study program by the Senate of Ss. Kliment Ohridski – Bitola no. 07-1226 / 4 dated 12.9.2012 and based on the accreditation received from the Accreditation Board with decision no. 12-314 / 3 from 6.3.2013, as well as the decision for work from the Ministry of Education and Science no. 13-8311 / 4, dated 12.8.2013. The study program Tourism has been re-accredited twice in 2016 (Board for Accreditation and Evaluation of Higher Education, Decision No. 1409-58 / dated 20.5.2016) and 2019 (Board for Accreditation and Evaluation of Higher Education, Decision No. 1409- 58/4 from 3.6.2019). Realization of the study program starts from the academic year 2013/14. According to the international Frascati classification, the study program belongs to the scientific field of Social Sciences 5 scientific field Tourism and Hospitality 5.14 and the field of Tourism 51419. The title that the student receives after completing the study program is Doctor of Science in the field of tourism. The beginning of the work of the study program Tourism was with 12 accredited mentors. The number of students planned to enroll in the study program depends on the number of accredited mentors for third cycle studies. 26 mentors are accredited for the study program Tourism in 2019.
Students who will graduate in doctoral studies are awarded the title of Doctor of Science in the field of tourism.
